I just mailed this brick to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, which is where I first picked it up in the early 1980's when I was a student there. The college at that time was replacing all of the bricks on the exterior of the building because they were faulty. There were piles and pallets of new bricks all around, and many of us got our pencil holders there. I'm not returning the brick out of any guilt over stealing it; I am entering it in an alumni exhibition called Art-i-facts: An Unconventional History of MCAD.
