This is the same log as in yesterday's photo; today's high tide was equal to yesterday's, so I took the opportunity to rearrange the log, flipping it over and getting a better angle. It's still not perfect, so I'm looking forward to another high tide towards the end of this month. In the water just beyond the log you can see a small grey spot - that's a phallarope, they are very tame and curious. Our cat Euro brought a live on into the house and let it go. Luckily Carol was able to rescue the poor bird.
