This morning we had the most intense winter storm I've seen here on the coast, winds were clocked at 85mph. It just happened to coincide perfectly with the highest tide of the year, and the wind came out of the West so it blew towards the camera in this shot, over our house, Humboldt Bay is behind me. So, what happened was that a lot of debris got lifted up by the tide and blown out onto the bay. When things calmed down I went out in my canoe and lassoed this giant log and towed it to the shore in front of our house.
